- A Compelling History -

Lexington Coal Company, LLC was formed in September 2004 to reclaim, or transfer through property sales, 300 permits in five states assigned by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. These states included Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Illinois and Indiana. Over the past five and half years, our permits have been reduced from 305 to 79.  98% of the original permits have achieved at least a Phas I Bond release.  Through our reclamation efforts, over $178 million in bonds (covering over 12,000 disturbed acres and including over 3.3 million planted trees) have been released since September 2004. Lexington Mine Reclamation Services (LMRS) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lexington Coal Company.
