- A Compelling History -
Lexington Coal Company, LLC was formed in September 2004 to reclaim, or transfer through property sales, 300 permits in five states assigned by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. These states included Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Illinois and Indiana. It is anticipated that all 300 permits will either be eligible for Phase I bond release or transferred to responsible parties by early 2008, significantly ahead of schedule. Through our reclamation efforts, over $30 million in bonds (covering over 12,000 disturbed acres and including over 1.4 million planted trees) have been released since September 2004. Lexington Mine Reclamation Services (LMRS) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lexington Coal Company. |
